Right, since they were not that expensive, I somehow did not make the effort to search on the net for reviews, so I ended up with a pack of BTY AAA1350 rechargeable batteries. From the packaging, they went straight in the charger for evaluation - first discharge with 100 mA, then fully charging them with 200 mA current.The results are more than disappointing. I should have run the TEST mode of the charger, which should have reported the capacity upon discharge, but this value is usually less that the value during the charging. Anyway the numbers are so bad that this does not matter. One battery stores 78 mAh which essentially means it is completely death. The other three were about 270 mAh which actually fits the reports from other discussions on the net.
It is almost pointless to say that the batteries are worthless. I know, 1350 could mean anything, I know this trick, they are not the only one, but the retailer reported 1350 mAh capacity. There is nothing on the battery that states the capacity... Anyway, the weight is about 9 grams compared to 12 grams for another cheep brand with advertised capacity of 750 mAh. The logic suggests that if the same chemistry is used (NiMH) there is not such a good chance that miracle will happen with less of the energy storing material...
The scam is dating back to 2010 with claims, here and there, that actually the batteries are repacked alkaline batteries, which makes them rather dangerous to charge. I can not confirm if the batteries from my set were or were not alkaline.
And finally, the reason why a bother to write this post is because the retailer (Banggoud.com) is not publishing my negative review, but keeps publishing my later positive ones... so much for the usefulness of the user rating on their web page...
